Add environmental education enrichment to your home school curriculum by joining us for our monthly Home School Science series! Pringle Nature Center is a great place for children of all ages to study nature up-close in the forest, pond, and prairie ecosystems of the 197-acre Bristol Woods County Park. Home School Science is a nature-based, primarily outdoor program. Children participate in hands-on group learning with activities focused on a different nature-related topic each month.

Home School Science: Fall 2020

As Pringle Nature Center is currently closed to the public, we are unfortunately unable to proceed with our Home School Science program as usual. Instead, HSS will be moving to a virtual format this year, enabling even more families to access fun, outdoor science activities (and an opportunity to connect with the HSS community). We hope to resume in-person programming for the spring semester.

This semester, families will be able to sign up for monthly, themed nature lessons, each containing three main activities (Explore!, Investigate!, and Create!) appropriate for grades K-5 with parental guidance. Modifications for older students (grades 3-5) will be noted where applicable. There will also be an optional virtual group meet led by the Pringle Nature Center staff each month. Activities are written with Bristol Woods County Park in mind but may be completed in any outdoor setting. Each lesson is designed to take approximately 1.5 hours to complete, not including the optional group meet, and costs $5/child.

Registration

***Public registration for all fall semester lessons will open on September 22nd.***

If you participated in HSS over any of the last three years, you should have received an email with a link to early registration. Please contact us at naturalist@pringlenc.org with any questions.

Due to the nature of this year's HSS format (downloadable lessons), we are unable to offer refunds. Thank you for your understanding!
