Nature Story Time
Hike: The Eagle & The Wren retold by Jane Goodall

Come out for a
story about how the lark, dove, eagle, and vulture all claim to soar the
highest. So owl suggests a contest, and off the birds soar. It appears eagle is
the winner, but a tiny passenger on his wing may change the outcome. After the
story, we will head out for a hike with activities tied to the story.

Grab your lawn
chair or blanket to sit around the campfire to learn about nature as we talk
about the creatures of the night, the owl. Learn how it is adapted to be
stealthy at night or during the day.

Pringle Fall Fun Fest

Join us for a
great time for the entire family. Come and enjoy live music, go on hayrides
through our beautiful trails, make crafts from autumnal materials, or listen to
people speak about local efforts in conservation. There is something for every
member of the family to enjoy. Become a Friend of Pringle and get free tickets
for the festival!

Saturday Night Campfire Talk: Wild

learn about what it nature is safe to eat and what isn't. From Rose Hips to Pine
needles, you'll learn what it looks like and what might be something pretending

Beginning Geocaching

Geocaching is a
sport where people use their GPS’s to play hide and seek with cache’s, sometimes
filled with treasure. Whether you’ve never done it before or just beginning and
want more practice, come on out to
see if you can find our hidden cache’s. There will be a short informational
session at 1:00 and 2:00 before heading out to search for the cache’s. Bring
your own GPS or check out one of ours.

Haunted Hike in the Woods
Saturday, October 23rd,
6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Come decked out in
your best Halloween Costume and join us as we celebrate this holiday in the
woods of Bristol Park as local Boy Scouts haunt our woods. We’ll see if the animals will trick us or give us a good treat.
There will be hot chocolate to warm up after the hike.

LNCI: Teachers Convention Day Camp
Thursday & Friday, October 28th
& 29th, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Instead of having
your kids cooped up all day, send them to Pringle where we’ll have day long
activities out in nature for them. On October 28th, children will get
ready for winter like the animals do. Forage for food and build shelters in the
woods. Children will go home with simple bird feeders to help animals around
their own home survive the winter. On October 29th, children will
learn what is lurking out in the nature center’s woods and discover not all
that’s in the woods is scary. Children should bring a bag lunch and be dressed
appropriately for the weather.

Candle Light
Halloween Hike

Don’t let the ghouls and goblins
scare you from coming out! Come dressed in your best Halloween costume for this
safe Halloween hike to see if our nocturnal friends will give us a treat or
trick us along a candle lit trail. Hot chocolate and snacks will be provided.

Lace up your
running shoes to help raise money for
Pringle
Nature Center’s environmental education programs.
This 5K run/hike goes through Bristol Woods and is hailed as one of the best
trails in the area. Register online or by stopping at the nature center.

Join us for this 1963 Caldecott Medal winner, for this simple tale of a boy
waking up to discover that snow has fallen during the night. The little boy
celebrates the snow-draped city with a day of humble adventures - experimenting
with footprints, knocking snow from a tree, creating snow angels, and trying to
save a snowball for the next day. After the story, we will head out for a hike
with activities tied to the story.
